Edit User Settings

Dear all,
I’m new to GSA and I’m trying to change the user settings, but it won’t accept any of the formats I’ve entered. I’ve tried all the ones in the manual and none of them work. It always gives me the message “X”. Could you help me with this simple task of filling out the Details, List and Report fields?

Thank you very much in advance to everyone who was able to help.

%Y, %m, or %d are not available options. See docs for 22.04 or 22.10 .

Date option for current date in ISO 8601 Basic Date Format is %D for YYYYMMDD which is fairly close to your goal.

Dear Sir, good afternoon, I don’t want any specific result. In fact, I just want to change the number of results per page, but I can’t move forward because of these errors.

For the three items below, could you give me a suggestion that the system will accept? Something like “Details_2025_02”.
→ Details Export File Name
→ List Export File Name
→ Report Export File Name

I’ve read the documentation and even after trying in several ways, the system didn’t accept it.

Dear Sir,
Good afternoon,
How did you configure your Greenbone?
I can’t move forward, could you give me an example?
That way I could solve my problem and we could close the discussion.

Sorry, it appears there is a bug preventing the timezone from being set. I’m not immediately sure if this bug is in the web-interface GSA or gvmd, but I will pass this issue along to the developers.

HI @diego.zacche, could you describe your environment? Which version do you use and how did you install it? I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue to be able to fix it yet.

Btw. it is very likely this issue is fixed with the latest GSA release already as the UI got a complete overhaul.

Dear all,
Good morning,
My version of GSA is 23.3.0.
I have it installed on a KALI LINUX.

When running the command “gsad --version” it returns: Greenbone Security Assistant 24.0.0~git

I guess this is the same / similar as in Openvas error after installation on Kali Linux and Kali still ships some outdated versions of the GSA component (23.3.0 while 24.3.0 is current and Kali is missing 5 releases).

The only thing to move forward with this is probably that you open a new ticket at https://bugs.kali.org and ask the Kali maintainer to update the versions of all components to the latest versions.

v24.3.0) - 2025-02-14

If Update list of possible timezones by bjoernricks · Pull Request #4309 · greenbone/gsa · GitHub fixed this issue you could try to install the tzdata-legacy package. It installs older timezones and having them might circumvent the issue.

Good afternoon everyone,
I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked.
I did everything requested above and the problem persists.
The only thing I wanted to do is change the “Rows Per Page” line.
Is there any way to change the “Rows Per Page” via the command line in KALI, that is, outside of the Greenbone page?

I would suggest to contact the Kali packaging team like pointed out previously to get the most current versions of the software stack into their repositories:

Good morning,
I followed your suggestion.
