W3af integration issue

how to integrate w3af into openvas?
I am not able to identify any useful article from which I can take help in installing w3af.
w3af is already built on python 2. xxx. Right now, w3af dependencies are not supported by python 3 and python 2.xxx dependencies don’t exist.

Please help in order to find the solution of the problem.

Do you know, if I can install another open-source web application scanner in open was?

Thanks in advance.
Vielen Dank.

Hi @abhishekcisc096 and welcome to the forum

it looks like you will need to get in touch with the project maintainer for W3af (or see if there is a current build available, or how to build it yourself). The current docs for the project (including contact links) are here: http://docs.w3af.org/en/latest/

I’m not sure of an alternate option, but maybe someone will jump the thread in with one.

Thanks!

https://github.com/andresriancho/w3af/issues/17866 adresses the Python 3 issue. Maybe https://github.com/w4af/w4af is on the way to be your solution. @abhishekcisc096 . If that works for you, any feedback is welcome.

To avoid any further work on this topic:

AFAICT there is currently no possibility to integrate w3af into any product provided by Greenbone out of the box.

You would need to implement such an integration on your own via e.g. OSP (if that is even possible currently) or via a NASL script calling w3af externally.
