Updated EOL date for VMware ESXi 7

Since April 2, 2025, the following result has been appearing when scanning servers with version vSphere 7.0.x:

The “VMWare ESX / ESXi” Operating System on the remote host has reached the end of life.

However, this information is incorrect. The support has been extended by Broadcom until October 2, 2025 (see: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/372953/announcing-end-of-support-life-for-vsphe.html).

This is already known and the date will be adjusted to the updated one in one of the next feed updates.

Please note:

  • that EOL dates are only provided / maintained on a “best effort” base
  • the info was actually correct based on the info which had been published initially
  • and you actually should already start to plan the migration for the soon to be reaching EOL product
