Hi I have installed the Greenbone using this link
https://securitytrails.com/blog/openvas-vulnerability-scanner#content-installing-on-ubuntu-2004
All worked fine and I am able to see the web console on :5392 port. The issue is that when I try to use username and password admin, it shows me error
The Greenbone Vulnerability Manager service is not responding. This could be due to system maintenance. Please try again later, check the system status, or contact your system administrator.
I have seen multiple forums but I don’t know what could be the issue.
Please help
Hi,
we can’t support external docs. You can find our maintained docs at https://greenbone.github.io/docs/latest/
I just will give you some information:
- most external docs are heavily outdated and/or containing wrong/erroneous information
- the standard port for our web application is 9392
- by default it listens for http on localhost
- if our web application is giving you the error
Greenbone Vulnerability Manager service is not responding
it means that the gvmd
daemon is not running or not responding. You should take a look at /var/log/gvm/gvmd.log
- if there is no file at
/var/log/gvm/gvmd.log
it either hasn’t been started or your docs are using a different location for the log file
- if the
gvmd
daemon isn’t running you need also take a look at your docs on howto start it
