When I create a task - the time is correct, once I try and run it - the report it generates is dispalted as UTC but the timezone shows the one configured on my server (5 hour difference).
This only occurs on the reports - everything else created (objects) shows the correct time/timezone.
When choosing the category for a topic please try to have a look at the category description for each category first:
The current used category is/was https://community.greenbone.net/c/vulnerability-tests (Description: About the Vulnerability Tests category) which is about vulnerability tests (the so called “NASL scripts”).
Your question is completely unrelated to the NASL script itself but about timezone inconsistencies within GVM so i have moved this topic into the better fitting https://community.greenbone.net/c/gse (Description: About the Source Edition (GSE) category).
Please run your GVM installation in UTC, you can set as User your personal timezone via GSA. All internal Times are using UTC. If you set a local timezone you might shift your UTC timezone.
Please check on your console via: “# TZ=UTC date” if the time is not correct you need to fix your local environment.
Thank you Lucas!
Your advice helped me troubleshoot this. Setting the local time did shift the UTC timezone to local time.
