Question about contributing and broken link from github to forums

Hi OpenVAS community,

I’d like to contribute to the project, I am specifically interested in sending reports through the alert with a POST to an API, and wanted to ask where the best place would be to start. Since I already have a PoC running, is there a recommended process or repository for proposing and submitting changes? I noticed that such a change would require adjustments in multiple parts of the openvas ecosystem, eg gvmd, gsa, but i am unsure how to approach and if contributions/change requests are even welcome.

Additionally, while creating a GitHub issue, I noticed the link referring to the community forum seems to be outdated or invalid. Would it be possible to update that link so contributors and users are directed to the correct place?

Thanks for all the hard work on the project!

Best,
Brian

Hi @Brian174 and welcome

Hopefully one of the developers can follow up with the best entry path, but I can take a look at the broken link. Can you post the exact page you see it? Thanks!

About the link to the community forum:

Usually it is the best to either create an issue or directly a pull request in the relevant GitHub repository for such cases. Otherwise the chances are quite high that it won’t get noticed as the team(s) maintaining the repository is not necessarily checking this forums.

Thank you for your response. That makes sense, I shall keep that in mind for future situations!

Thank you for your reply. The link resides in the github gvmd repo, currently it redirects to a page that doesnt exist, resulting in ‘Page not Found’ . The link is found under ‘new issue’ > ‘greenbone community forum’: Sign in to GitHub · GitHub.
