Pdf reports are empty

Hello,

I have greenbone installed under kali linux. When I want to export reports in any format, it comes out empty. I’ve come across several threads talking about this problem but it doesn’t solve mine because I don’t have or can’t find the latex.xsl file. I only get this when I locate latex.xsl: “/usr/share/doc/texlive-doc/latex/latex-web-companion/apb/minilatex.xsl.gz”.

Hi @epannetier and welcome to the forum

I’m not sure if it’s related to this: My PDF reports generate zero files in OpenVas!

But in any case it looks like something to let the Kali maintainers know about at https://bugs.kali.org

Hi, thanks for the welcome.
I’ve looked at several forums and several solutions but each time I don’t have the same files as everyone else. https://pastebin.com/ydSdMN5J

I have a fresh Kali install and reports are showing for me. Have you tried updating postgresql after installation? I know I am on 17.

Still the same after updating.

I’m also getting PDF reports fine from the Kali 2024.3 Virtualbox VM. Here is my suggestion:

  1. Set the log configuration for gvmd higher: sudo nano /etc/gvm/gvmd_log.conf, and change level=127 to level=128 under the [md main] section.
  2. Restart the gvmd service: sudo systemctl restart gvmd.service. NOTE: any scans will be interrupted, so be aware of that.
  3. Export a PDF report again
  4. View the gvmd log: sudo nano /var/log/gvm/gvmd.log or sudo tail -200 /var/log/gvm/gvmd.log something like that
  5. Look for any errors that cause the PDF file to fail. Should be something.
