OSP service has different VT status

Hi all,
I’ve been trying to setup openvas on my Raspberry Pi Model 4 B, but I keep running into this error:

md manage: INFO:2024-09-16 16h26.27 utc:2065387: OSP service has different VT status (version 202409160608) from database (version (null), 0 VTs). Starting update ...

I’ve setup openvas before with no issues so I’m not sure what would be the cause of this. Gvm-check-setup returns fine and I’ve already reinstalled openvas with no luck. Any ideas?

Can you describe your instllation method. This error could be returned from any installation of Greenbone such as source code installation, Community Containers, or Kali Linux native packages.

I installed it by following the community documentation for Kali with:

sudo apt install gvm

Should I try installing on another distro to make sure it isn’t a Kali issue?

When you say:

Do you mean that you setup up Greenbone on Kali Raspberry Pi 4 or another Kali Pi version? It’s possible that some changes have been made to the Kali Pi distro which have caused problems with the Greenbone packages. I suggest asking about this on Kali Forum or Kali Bug Tracker.

I set up Greenbone on an extra laptop using Kali, and then used the Pi imager for Kali for the Pi 4. I also just tried to setup up Greenbone again on a different laptop with the same image that worked the first time and it showing the same error. It seems to be a Kali specific issue so I’ll ask on their forum and try a different image in the meantime.

I understand, but those distros (Kali and Kali Rapberry Pi 4) and their packages are maintained separately. This current thread in the forum should only address one of those issues - the one you mentioned was Kali Rapberry Pi 4. If you have problems with the main Kali distro - please start a separate thread, but the message will likely be the same - contact Kali forums and Bug tracker.
