OpenVAS SaS from public net into a private net

Hello everyone, i would to know if with openVAS i can scan a network from outside. If openVAS is installed on a server with public access, can i access into a private network for scan that LAN? For example with an instance of openVAS installed into private LAN.
How can i do this?

Hi,

You need a connection to the private network of course, please note that rfc1918 space is not public routed in general, so you need either a VPN/Tunnel into your space or a sensor dual connected with one interface within the RFC1918 space and one on the routed space.
