You can issue a http get request with alerts

I can see that this is just an alert, is there like an actual integration of OpenVAS with SNMP traps?

There is an explicit alert method for SNMP. Just check the alerts dialog for the required parameters.

Can I ask what version of SNMP openVAS is using? Is it SNMPv3?

GOS does support SNMPv3 with cryptographic capabilities. If you use a uncoordinated integration you need to support it on your own with net-snmp.
