Openvas crashes

the scanner failes to start after loading some updates
openvas_scanner_connect_unix: Failed to connect to scanner

also when updateing

rsync: [sender] link_stat “/feed.xml” (in scap-data) failed: No such file or directory (2)

is there any issue with updates.

More Observations
after Disabling or moving the Policy/Euler folder, the scanner started.

Any suggestion would be helpful.

@Divesh

what installation? source, docker or kali packages? make sure that there is enought diskspace (60-80G) and at least 8G ram (more is better)

Eero

  1. Required Disk space is available with sufficient RAM.
  2. Installation from source

@Divesh

I recommend trying, for example, Kali Linux’s prebuilt OpenVAS packages or the installation script at GitHub - Kastervo/OpenVAS-Installation: A secure, automated script to install and configure OpenVAS (Greenbone Community Edition) from source on Debian 12. Features GPG verification, self-signed SSL, and systemd integration.

Instructions for source code installation must be followed precisely, and it will work reliably when done so.
