Hi All, I have installed OpenVAS on a VM and it all went well.
Following the exact same steps, I tried to install on an actual laptup, running Kali 2024.3 (fully updated).
When I try to configure a target I get an error "Failed to find port_list ‘33d0cd82-57c6-11e1-8ed1-406186ea4fc5’ ".
I looked up for this error, and tried to run " sudo -u gvm gvmd --rebuild-gvmd-data=all" (or any other command that includes “-u gvm” and I get an error “unknown user gvm” and “error initializing audit plugin sudoers_audit”.
That can happen when the install is still running in the background (or something is missing), is it still doing that? There are also some differences between the Greenbone release and the package in Kali (the gvm user is _gvm). There are some additional hints here at Troubleshooting - Greenbone Community Documentation
