So I am running a MAC OS and then I have a VMWARE running Kali Linux.
And that is where I am getting the errors.
So do I need to enable RSYNC for this to work ?
I am just trying to update SCAP database and getting the errors.
thanks
Please see above. Did you checked via netcat the connection to the Feed Server ?
I will check that and reply back.
So I tried NetCAT it says 89.146.224.58 873 (rsync) : Connection Refused
nc 89.146.224.58 873
nc: using stream socket
@RSYNCD: 31.0

So Do I need to put this command in ?
Sorry pretty new to this…

You need to fix your network to connect your GVM installation direct to the Internet … if you are behind a corporate firewall this might not work and you need to talk to your firewall department to allow you RSYNC to our community feed server.
Ok. It was the firewall. Got it fixed I think. Thanks
Also do I have to update these databases everytime I need to use it?
thanks
Only for the first time use, after this only deltas are transferred …
But I do need to run this command each time I scan? so that the deltas come over?
Or is there a script that I can run?
Please contact your OS vendor / packet-vendor about this, i can only talk about our appliances
Thanks
