NASL Dependencies Problem Loading

Seeing lots of nasl load errors in my logs - and I can’t find any of the files it says it needs. Not sure where to get these from and where to put them:

I’m also seeing parse errors for the XML files in the logs. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?

Seems there is a discrepancy with the scanners internal VT cache (AFAIK in ospd-openvas/redis) and the manager daemons one (gvmd).

AFAIK this should be gone with a follow-up feed update.

I’m having the same messages in the logs over the last week or slightly more and it was working perfectly well before that. On top of that my scans for more than one or two machines gets interrupted at 99% even though all the hosts have been scanned and the scan is finished, just that instead of completing and emailing me, it say “interrupted” and always 99%.

The interruption occurs for scans that both have exclusions and don’t have exclusions.

Feed has been updated, still the same.

Any ideas?

I’m having this same issue using GVM 21.04 with the greenbone security feed. Anyone have any idea what’s wrong with it?

I went back to the free community feed and it worked fine. Seems to be something wrong with the paid feed.

The solution is not to use some different external third party packages not maintained by Greenbone if a user has issues with the feed! The feeds are completely independent of the GVM stack.

It has been determined that there is no problem with the GSF or GCF feed. This issue / message is caused by some race condition where all GVM components (openvas, ospd-openvas, redis, gvmd) has a different info on the actual feed content. Switching between the feed most likely has caused a rebuild of that cache in GVM correcting these discrepancies.

@bricks This was an unmodified Greenbone Virtual Machine provided on Greenbone’s website. No external third party packages were used.

@cfi Yes, when I switched back again to the paid feed it worked, so it seems to be some race condition like you said. Is there a way to manually rebuild the cache without switching feeds?
