How to Perform a Vulnerability Scan for a Specific Path?

I am using Greenbone/OpenVAS for vulnerability scanning, and I need to perform a scan targeting a specific path (e.g., /var/www/html or /app/specific-folder) instead of scanning the entire system.

Could you please guide me on:

  1. Whether it is possible to scan a specific directory path rather than the whole system?
  2. If so, what settings or scan configurations should I adjust in Greenbone/OpenVAS?
  3. Any recommended scan configurations for this use case?

There is no option to limit the authenticated scan by a specific file path. You can edit a scan configuration to remove VTs that you don’t want to execute, but cannot limit the scan by path.
