How do you make scan reports you've run viewable to other users?

Hi there,

I’ve run a few test scans but my colleague isn’t able to view them. How can you make all scan reports viewable to other users?

OpenVAS relies on role-based access control; consequently, objects are not visible to other users by default. Would it be preferable to define access using access groups?

Yes, that would definitely be what we’re looking for. Have something like an “Analyst” role or whatever and any user with that group membership be able to view all scan reports from other users who have the same group membership. Does that functionality already exist and I’m just not seeing it?

Nowadays, I recommend using AI to solve this problem. Tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar will provide you with the necessary instructions. Let’s leave this as a homework assignment.

Access groups sound like the right direction for this use case. Shared report visibility is important when multiple analysts are working from the same scan results.
