Gvm-check-setup: ERROR STEP 5

Im strugling with this problem:

→ gvm-check-setup:
Step 5: Checking Postgresql DB and user …
OK: Postgresql version and default port are OK.
gvmd | _gvm | UTF8 | libc | es_CO.UTF-8 | es_CO.UTF-8 | | |
ERROR: The new extension pgcrypto does not exist for gvmd database
FIX: Run ‘sudo runuser -u postgres – /usr/share/gvm/create-postgresql-database’

ERROR: Your GVM-22.5.0 installation is not yet complete!


->sudo runuser -u postgres – /usr/share/gvm/create-postgresql-database:
[*] Creating extension pg-gvm
ERROR: extension “pg-gvm” is not available
DETAILS: Could not open extension control file “/usr/share/postgresql/16/extension/pg-gvm.control”
SUGGESTION: The extension must first be installed on the system where PostgreSQL is running

What Linux distro are you using? Some Greenbone native Linux installations are not actively maintained. I guess that only Kali Linux is active.

I have the same issue.

This looks like a packaging issue / problem which can’t be solved by Greenbone or the Greenbone Community.

Please raise a new issue for the maintainer of the used packages in the relevant issue tracker for investigation. For Kali this would be e.g.:
