Difference between openvas and openvassd from two different sources?

Why is it when I compile from source here, it doesn’t openvassd and only openvas in /usr/local/sbin
https://github.com/greenbone/openvas/archive/v6.0.1.tar.gz

but when I compile from source after I git clone this repo, it installs openvassd and openvas?

After the changes announced in OpenVAS = Open Vulnerability Assessment Scanner there are the following two different daemons / binaries:

openvassd for the openvas-scanner-6.0 branch and below

openvas for the master branch

If you have two binaries openvassd and openvas this means that you have installed a stable and a development branch side-by-side.

Please please don’t ever use master branches from our sources if you are not following our development and are not able to fix issues by yourself. master branches make break EVERYTIME.
