Community Docker logs

Hi,

I am running the community Editon within docker. For some reason the scan interrupts at 0%. Where do I find some useful information to this? Where are the log files? Thanks

There are several cases where a scan may interrupt at 0% or partial way through a scan. As an example see this post. You may find other examples peppered throughout the forum discussions. Most commonly its a security product such as firewall or IDS blocking access, or the host is not responding.

You can see the Greenbone Community portal documentation on installing Greenbone Docker containers to find out how to enable log output to the terminal and also how to get a shell terminal connection to a specific container.

Great. Thanks. From that logoutput I got this.

Seems to be an error with openvas scanner. Th eday I installed greenbone scanning worked fine. Now something is interfering. Any idea how I can fix this?

Any hint would be appreciated.

Firstly, it would be nicer if you posted your error output using the proper format which is using triple backticks to encapsulate the output rather than single backticks not like this.

like this

Secondly, have you tried restarting the underlying system and restarting the docker containers? I see from another post you are pulling the feed update volumes, so in some cases, this may require a system restart.

I’ve just reformatted the post. Please always use three backticks ``` when posting logs or any formatted content.

Ok, I will format better. After restarting machine I get this

That means the openvas scanner in the ospd-openvas container is still starting and hasn’t loaded the VT information yet. Or isn’t running at all.
