An internal error occurred inside GSA daemon. Diagnostics: No valid command for gmp

Hello,

I’m using a daily-updated Kali distro and I just updated OpenVAS to the latest version 23.8.5-1.

Now, when I login, the menu lacks a lot of items, and clicking on “Administration” pops up the following error message:

“An internal error occurred inside GSA daemon. Diagnostics: No valid command for gmp.”

Nothing useful can be found in the logs.

What happended? How could I solve this issue?

Many thanks, folks.

Hi @rm1984, thanks for letting us know and there is a report on the Kali bug tracker here 0008896: Greenbone - Openvas - GVM missing gvm-libs after doing sudo apt full-upgrade - Kali Linux Bug Tracker

Not able to get their solutions to work. Wondering if there is something else missing.

I am having this problem as well. I have tried all the command line work arounds in the given link for the bug 8896 provided in other posts. Still no solution even after sudo apt update && upgrade for Kali. Any solutions?
